In September of last year Lynda O’Connor, Darbi Boddy, and Isaac Adi voted for a curriculum audit of CRT. Originally, the board had tasked the curriculum department to do an RFP to find an organization to do such an audit. At the meeting where the results of that RFP were presented, there was a “surprise” amendment where Lynda, Darbi, and Isaac basically threw away all of the work the curriculum department had done to that point and proposed a new idea: an internal curriculum audit that would be audited by a committee of five community members, one member picked by each board member. There were no other processes around it other than that, and nothing has happened with that audit since the September meeting when it was proposed other than Lynda O’Connor sharing some details of the audit with a community member – and then backtracking a bit on some of those details in public. Since then, the head of curriculum department left the district for a job in the private sector doing work for schools. Why could that be? Part of the reason the board hasn’t done anything on it might have something to do with the fact that it would be illegal for them to. The idea was conceived seemingly by Lynda and Isaac and supported by Darbi. It was discussed and deliberated on in meeting of the West Chester Tea Party. See details of that here:

You can see that the video has been heavily edited, but still shows an Ohio Open Meeting Act violation. There are three specific cuts that can be seen in the full video here ( https://vimeo.com/727429565 ):

  • Isaac starting to answer a question from the audience at 1:31:25
  • Isaac starting to answer another question from the audience at 1:35:33
  • The video end abruptly right when Lynda O’Connor begins talking. It seems like Lynda was trying to act like she wasn’t at the meeting, because she knew a violation was occuring.

One can only imagine what was cut if this critical open meetings violation was left in the edit. If you are NOT familiar with the West Chester Tea Party, here’s a sample of the kinds of conspiracy theories they adhere to, in a question from the same meeting. Lynda, Isaac, and Darbi are all tied deep to this group and these people.

Questioner talking about how they believe that radiation from wifi in schools causes students to question their gender and sexuality.

Here is how it went down at the school board meeting in the following month when these CRT audit changes were proposed in public.

You can see Isaac and Lynda completely ignoring Julie Shaffer as she points out problems with the originally proposed audit – they are figuring out how to propose what was discussed likely in private as well as during the West Chester Tea Party meeting.

As this is being posted, there is a school board meeting tonight that was called explicitly as a special meeting- which means no public comment will likely be allowed. An item on the agenda is a “curriculum update”. Where will Lynda, Isaac, and Darbi take this CRT audit which is a waste of time for all involved next?
